Lyndhurst's scarecrow trail is 10 and 11 October, pumpkin picking runs every weekend, then Ringwood and Fawley fireworks on 1 November. 50 dates checked.
Pumpkin picking is open at weekends: Sunnyfields in Totton and Picking Patch at Fordingbridge both opened on Saturday 3 October, with scare mazes after dark from 16 October (all on Halloween in the New Forest). Half term starts on Saturday 24 October, and the New Forest’s big days out all run something for it: Beaulieu’s folklore trail and Palace House ghost stories, Exbury’s Halloween Ghost Train and Paultons Park’s Halloween Spooktacular with its late openings. A week later the fireworks begin. Ringwood’s Grand Fireworks and Fawley’s low noise display are both on Sunday 1 November, Lyndhurst’s bonfire on Coles Mead is on Friday 6 November, and Totton and Eling Cricket Club’s is on Sunday 8 November, the same day as Remembrance Sunday.
Between now and then, the district’s two arts centres carry most of the evenings. Forest Arts Centre in New Milton has comedy and folk through October. Hanger Farm in Totton has a show most nights.
Every listing below was read on the organiser’s own page on 28 or 29 September 2026, re-checked on 3 and 6 October, and links back to it, so you can check before you set off. One show, Alasdair Beckett-King on 15 October, is listed as sold out and we have said so.
Updated 6 October: Daniel Foxx at Forest Arts on 8 October is no longer listed as sold out, and Ringwood’s £3 fireworks tickets end on Thursday 8 October. Added Chantel McGregor (16 October), a half-term science illusion show at Hanger Farm (28 October), and the Rheingans Sisters and Hannah James at Forest Arts (13 and 14 November).
Updated 3 October: past dates removed; Sunnyfields, Picking Patch and Moors Valley’s Halloween events added; Ringwood has published its fireworks running order (low noise display 5.30pm, main display 7pm). For places open whatever the month, see things to do in the New Forest.
